A new program to provide training to entrepreneurs has been introduced this summer. The 'Three Step Jump Start' program has been launched by the West Virginia Small Business Development Centre to encourage entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The program is designed to disseminate timely information to the entrepreneurs about the structure and services on offer at the Centre.
According to the SBDC state director, Kristina Oliver, new entrepreneurs have to watch a video on its website which offers all information about the centre and its understanding. The centre does not provide loans or grants to them but they do provide technical help.
Then the entrepreneurs have to attend a Fundamentals Workshop which elaborates on the basics of establishing a new business. This three hour session comes at $35 per person.
In step three the entrepreneurs can choose to have a meeting with a member of the centre for personal coaching sessions where they can go over finances and other planning.

Those wanting to get insights on how to grow their home based business will find solace in Small Business Association's (SBA's) web chat scheduled on 28 July at 12pm CST. Web chat participants can post queries online in advance by visiting www.sba.gov and clicking on the web chat link under 'What's New.' Home-based business champion and small business owner, Boyd Wright, will answer the queries.
With over half of US engaged in some kind of home based business, this web chat will help people to know the advantages of having a home based business and the benefits emerging from it. The web chat will also offer entrepreneurs an opportunity to discuss business issues online with experts, industry leaders and successful entrepreneurs.
Apple Computer, Hershey's, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and the Ford Motor Company also started out as home based businesses. The idea behind the web chat is to encourage more aspirants to start their own home based business or give an existing home based business a required push in the right direction.

This year start working with new and innovative business ideas. Small businesses do survive most of the time as it can be seen from the recession.
One of the first and the best business ideas that can be looked into is online business or making money online. It is good because it is rewarding and cost effective. Providing personalized goods to people is also one of the business ideas you could employ. People look for products with a personal touch and you could use this to your benefit. Another great idea is to become a social media consultant; most companies are 'media illiterate'- they are not able to promote their goods, so starting a social media consulting business is a plan that can help other companies. Cloud businesses are also great business ideas which you can use.
Also you can try "business with a cause"; most customers like to buy products especially when they are giving back to nature or society so this is one of the best business ideas that will definitely work. Crowdsourcing services and providing business and services to home base businesses are also good business ideas. Natural disaster recovery business is also a very lucrative idea that will also involve tie ups with the government. Real time online offline combo businesses and green, organic businesses are also great small business ideas.
